Vietnam War Veteran Dexter Sullivan 7-19-2021
Vietnam War Veteran Dexter Sullivan tells his story at the Warrior Exhibit in Fayetteville Tennessee. Dexter also tells the story of his brother Marine Pvt. First Class Stanley Sullivan.who was killed at the age 23 on Independence Day. The young marine was one of five servicemen from Lincoln County killed during the Vietnam Conflict. Robert D. (Bobby) Williams was the first casualty of the war for the community here. He was followed by Joe Howard Moorehead, Stanley, then Robert D. Armstrong, and John Paul Davis. Dexter tells st was July 4, 1967, when Stanley was killed in a heroic act of courage while his company was recovering bodies of Marines killed earlier in the first days of Operation Buffalo. “His bravery is still remembered by family and friends, and especially by his comrades in Kilo Company which many of them say they owe their life to Stanley Sullivan.”
